Can any pre-med PENN students tell me their schedule for their freshmen year?

im a pre med. and first semester i took bio, math, writing seminar (its a requirement) and a spanish requirement.

i would recommend taking chem freshman year though. so you can take bio and physics together sophomore year (as chem tends to be the most difficult out of the three so doubling up with gen chem and physics/bio is probably gonna be harder). then take organic chem your junior year.

of course if you plan to take a year off before applying to med school you could just take a science a year i suppose

Freshman year:
Fall:
Writing Seminar
Math 104
Chem 101
Chem 053
Spanish 121

Spring:
Stat111
Chem 102
Chem 054
Spanish 130
Cinema 102

Sophomore year:
Fall:
Orgo 1
Spanish 140
Intro to Cogsci
Intro to Psych

Orgo is by far my favorite subject. It’s a ton of fun and I had an awesome professor. Don’t let the hype about it and gen chem fool you, they are not impossibly hard and pre-meds at Penn (and in general) are a notoriously whiny bunch when it comes to classes that make you think differently. I had Dr. Pietrovito for chem 101 and his approach makes you think but I learned a lot and did well. Next year (junior) will be the first year I’m doubling up sciences but I definitely think that you should try to take chemistry two years straight.

S took:

Chem 101, Chem lab 053, Physics w/lab, Intro to Bioeng., Math 114 (CalcII), and Hist of bioethics
Then, Chem 102, Chem lab, Physics II w/lab, Intro to Bioeng. II, Math (Calc III) and Writing seminar
Very tough schedule…

I’m in a dual-degree program, but here’s my current schedule (and my plans for completing the pre-med requirements).

Fall Freshman Year, taken:
ECON010 (Wharton intro econ class)
MGMT100 (Wharton requirement)
LSMP121 (Seminar for my dual degree program)
HIST170 (Double counts for a sector requirement and a foundational approach in the College, also a very interesting class with a great professor and TA staff; never thought I’d actually love a history course)
BIOL121 (Intro Bio: The Molecular Biology of Life, pre-med req)
BIOL123 (Lab for BIOL121, pre-med req)

Spring Freshman Year, currently registered:
