Scenario:
You get into Princeton, UPenn, and JHU. You want to go to medical school.

Where do you go and why?

Whichever one would be the cheapest as you will have enough debt once you get out of medical school. ;)

Wherever you’re the most comfortable. Wherever makes the most financial sense. Your academic pedigree (=the name of your school) is probably one of the least important aspects of your application–nevermind the fact that the 3 schools you listed are probably equally prestigious.

Basically, the one you think will be the best. What you do matters much more than where you go, and how comfortable you are in your surroundings will play a huge role in how well you thrive there.

I might not go to any of those unless I had the very high stats, aptitude, interest, and drive to be one of their top students in my classes…especially BCMP. I wouldn’t want to be one of those accepted people with mid-ranged stats who ends up with the B’s in the classes.

If I wasn’t a tippy top student likely to star in my elite school’s classes, I would opt to go to a lower ranked very good school where I would shine and the profs would think I was awesome.

And, Kristin and Kdog are right…go where you fit in and will give you the least debt.

I would use 2 criteria:
-Identify your own criteria choose and which school matches the best
-Cheapest is important, but not be important for you, we woudl not know

Mom2: I completely agree with you. I was commenting under the assumption that OP has been accepted to all 3 schools and is actually choosing among them and only them. Of course, if that’s not the case, I’d follow your advice for sure.

The one you like the most

Haha I’ll be more concrete and say JHU but that is solely based on the fact that I’ve dreamt of JHU med since I was 12. Like everyone said, finances are the second most important factor, the first being your sense of potentially seeing yourself there. Good luck with the decision!
