Premed USC or Wake Forest or Colgate or UT Plan II

Does anyone know about the premed programs at University of Southern California, Wake Forest, Colgate, and UT Plan II? The acceptance rates into med school? And other aspects such as rigor of academics and competition? General opinions would be nice, I am torn!

I actually put down a DEPOSIT at UT Austin, and then re-negged and decided to go to USC.
It seems much more apt to prepare students for professional school…
PLUS UT Austin is notorious for grade deflation in science classes

UT Austin has much higher departmental rankings than USC and Wake Forest. Also, Plan II is much more prestigious.

Plan II is quite prestigious. If there is grade inflation, it is good for medical school!

^Grade DEFLATION

How’s finance work out? Wouldn’t Plan II be cheaper than USC?

USC is going to be cheaper for me than UT Austin based on financial aid, and I’m a Texas resident

I would narrow it down to Wake Forest and USC. They both will prepare you very well for the premed route and are more highly regarded than UT-Austin at the undergraduate level.

^Wake Forest and USC are definitely NOT more highly regarded than Plan II. They’re not even really more prestigious than UT in general.

How much extra is Plan II going to be as opposed to USC or WF?

Plan II is obviously going to be the most prestigious (and by a long shot imo), but if you’re pre-med you might want to save your money for medical school.

I’ve never even heard of Plan II like most people outside of Texas. USC and Wake are top 25 universities though while UT-Austin is not.

^Plan 2 is often a preferred option to Rice University in Texas

It is a wonderful program

Plan II is definitely known by academics and recruiters outside of Texas. It’s one of the oldest and most prestigious honors programs at a public university, and has been a national model for many honors programs.

I’m not aware of a single academic program or department at Wake or USC that is ranked higher than UT Austin. Even in the USNWR undergraduate rankings, doesn’t UT Austin have a higher undergraduate peer reputation score than them?
