Are there any books are websites I can use to prepare for taking AP Bio next year. Thanks

There are great books and websites to help with biology but I personally don’t think you need to start practicing so early unless you want to participate in the biology olympaid:

Books
Campbell’s biology is undoubtedly the best, focus on the experiments that Campbell discusses and be able to understand and apply them

Websites
Bozeman’s biology- has all 51 knowledge areas and skills that make up the new AP Biology curriculum, I wanted his chi square video and others the day before the ap and they were quite helpful

Khan Academy- more in detail than Bozeman but it is not geared specifically towards AP so it is more helpful in learning content

MIT Opencourseware- many people use it for the olympiad, personally the lectures are helpful but nothing you can’t understand from the textbook, the MIT biology course also doesn’t include human anatomy nor plants but it has a ton of great, challenging problems that can be worked through, again it is not made for the AP

Hope this helps! Good luck studying!

What do you need to know about Chemistry in AP Bio? I haven’t taken Chem yet and I heard that you need some prior knowledge of it (I’m taking Chem Hon. concurrent though)

According to what I’ve read apparently AP Bio is incredibly easy and can easily be studied on one’s own with a good textbook and review guide. If so, I’m considering taking another science next year like AP Chem and study AP Bio on my own for the AP exam. Is that such a good idea?

You learn/review some chemistry concepts in Biology. However, if I recall correctly, the chemistry concepts covered were more so from Biochemistry, so chances are you wouldn’t know them until AP Bio (or AP Chem or self-studied).

You can self-study for the AP exams (if you so choose). I would recommend taking the classes (for AP Biology or AP Chemistry) in order to develop skills that you need for the test that you can only obtain through the class itself. Now, if you already have those skills, great. However, I still recommend taking the classes, for the labs at least.
