hey, a lot of focus has been put on beast, but can some one talk about CCBT? do we ruck as far/often as they do? i heard it is a little more intense than cbt, is there any merit in that statement? can someone share any personal accounts or second hand accounts about there experience during CCBT? thanks

If you're talking about USMAPS, I don't know if I would say it is more intense than CBT at West Point, not sure where you might have heard that one. I would venture to say that Beast is more of a challenge, simply based upon the amount of weight our son lost during those first eight weeks at West Point, and he was in shape being a Prepster.

Vanguard Forge is what it used to be called when our son was a prepster and it was not difficult, if you pay attention. The duration is shorter than CBT because you start later and finish earlier than West Point, so you can get ready to enter the Academy.

You'll PT a lot, so be ready. Lots of running, but Fort Monmouth is flat compared to West Point which is anything but, so the running at the Academy will be more strenuous.

i have actually heard the same thing from a freind of mine that graduated from the prep school and is now at the academy. He said in ccbt the cadre are harder on you than they would be in cbt. And the fact that they are jaming a lot of knowledge into you in only roughly three weeks. All i have heard is get in the best of shape you can because regardless we are going to get smoked haha. only 30 days to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reporting in the best physical shape possible is good advice for both CCBT and CBT. How "tough" each training session is for an individual often depends on your level of physical conditioning when you report. That being said, my son was in great shape when he reported for CBT and still lost 20 pounds.

This link gives 2 videos on CCBT:
Welcome to The United States Military Academy Prep School

One tip: in addition to the usual running, pushups, situps etc. add flutter kicks....

What sort of knowledge do we have to memorize when we are there? Is it much like the knowledge plebes must memorize during Beast?
