I am an international student living in Africa but I am an American Citizen. I have really good grades, make it on honor roll and my teachers said my recommendations were great. I do tennis and track and field but not so active.I am big on community service and have traveled to many countries. I am worried my SSAT isn't good enough. I got around 2150 which is 77th Percentile (Grade 9 female) the breakdown is as follows

I am applying to some really top schools:
Phillips Academy Andover
Lawrenceville
Deerfield
Kent
Hotchkiss
Loomis
Berkshire
Mercersburg
George School
Hill School

Please Chance me! and also i need full FA to attend. Does this affect my chances?

Thank you so much in advance for all the answers!!

@preppieasker101 - Have you applied to these schools already? Are you open to other schools (including all girl schools)? You have the right number of schools for full FA but with your score (which is fine), I would suggest maybe switching some schools out for other schools. Like Blair or Peddie for L’Ville, NMH for Deerfield, Brooks for Andover, Gunnery for Hotchkiss and maybe add great all girl schools like Westover, SBS, Dana Hall and Foxcroft to your list. Or, you can keep your list the way it is and add five more schools on par with the ones I suggested- or other Gems you’ve found on your own.

Typically, if someone really wants to go to BS (and needs full FA) EC’s say apply to at least 15 schools. Of course, it is paramount that you like the schools you apply to and they fit your needs/ personality/ criteria. IMHO- most kids can’t go wrong with any of the schools I’ve suggested as alternatives/additions. They’re all great and have been around forever- so definitely check them out.

Most schools get back from break 1/5 so it’s not too late to interview via Skype and submit more applications. Don’t forget to ask for a fee waivers if you need them. Good luck and I’m around if you have further questions- always happy to help ( if I can ).

@PhotographerMom Thank you so much! I have submitted teacher recommendations, transcripts and have done interviews for most of the schools but I haven’t submitted my essays yet. I plan to do that soon. I am going to try and add some of the schools you mentioned so my chances of getting in are higher! Thank you once again and Happy new year to you too!

@preppieasker101 - You’re welcome :). One school I forgot to mention but highly recommend is Pomfret. This school is very near and dear to my heart http://www.pomfretschool.org/page . It’s a wonderful place and you would receive a fine education there. Definitely check it out!

My sister went to Foxcroft and she would give you the side- eye death glare for that comment. In case you didn’t know there’s only ONE Foxcroft and it’s in Virginia. (LOL) That’s like me saying, Oh- you mean the Lawrenceville in Nebraska? You’re a BS student now- get with the program, mrnephew!
My other sister went to Miss Porter’s but for the Love of God- don’t call it MPS- it’s Farmington. My OTHER sister went to SBS (which at the time was Deerfield’s sister school - something Deerfield doesn’t like to admit even though SBS is a very fine school. Snobs. ) By the way, did you know Deerfield was a total DIVE back in the 70’s? After my brother’s tour, he turned to our dad and said, You can’t pay me to go there. OK… I’m having way too much fun here so I’ll stop.
Pop Quiz tomorrow. I’m going to ask you which Headmistress ( at another all girls school ) went to jail after she shot the Diet Doctor. If you want BS cred, you gotta know this stuff… ( I’m kidding but a BS Quiz Thread would be fun).
Hey guys! I am joining George School in the fall as a sophomore! I’m quite happy with my decision but wanted to know a bit more about it from personal experience. I haven’t gotten the chance to visit yet .
How are the dorms and social life?
How many roommates would I have?
Is it a common bathroom or each room has their own bathroom?
Is the food good?
Are most weekends free to study or are there activities?
How many free periods would I have if I do 6/7 courses?
Would I have a peer mentor?
Do the sports have classes for beginners as well as more advanced people?
And is the community as welcoming as most say?
I hope to get some replies soon! Thanks:)
