Check out the Andover Song.

I’m more of an Exeter person.

Without clicking on the link, I already know that the contents are incredibly lame.

Omg, this looks like a Big Party School. Also, the video scs, probably it can be sent to a WE’VE GOT NO TALENT SHOW. :(

Ahaha i know the person who made this video…the guy that sang in it. We went to private school together until he went to BS.

Haha, they don’t seem like the types to party. Some of them seemed alright, but some of them made me lol.

I liked it until four minutes in when it started addressing the issue of money and how they started shoving their diversity in your throat. After that it just seems to be a really self-righteous song about how great the school and community is.

More like prep tool.

i go to college with plenty of andover grads…they are not all prodigies. this video makes it seem like the people at America’s 30,000 other high schools spend all day doing finger painting. granted Andover does attract good teachers and students, but they have a monopoly on neither.

not all andover kids are prodigies obviously, and not all kids at other schools are slackers. but in general, there definitely is a culture at andover that promotes intellectual stimulation as being cool which is a far cry from your typical high school in which it’s basically considered cool to fail. and being an admissions video, of course it’s going to brag about how awesome the school is. “if you see us as snobby rich kids, that’s your opinion” wouldn’t tell anyone anything.

This vid is a perfect example of why you should go to Middlesex instead…

I don’t understand why this video has been the target of so much criticism. The video is very high quality, and I think the student that wrote and directed this video as well as the other students featured in this video are very talented. I also do not understand why it was frowned upon to include the part about money, and about the atmosphere at Andover which makes it cool to learn. I actually think those parts are very important. There is a very common misconception that prep school kids think they can pay their way to success. Although some may be able to work the system with money, they are a minority. Most students at schools like Andover become successful through hard work. I give Andover a lot of credit by making their school available to students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. This was a great video, and this is coming from the perspective of a student that does not even go to Andover. Maybe other people are jealous.

This is racist.

Maybe, but in the middle of what?

I don’t get what the big deal is. I’ll be at Andover this fall, so I’m pretty biased, but if Exeter had done a similar video, I wouldn’t be making comments like “This vid is a perfect example of why you should go to Andover instead.” Gosh, guys, chill. It’s a song, it’s not supposed to be some sort of manifesto of superiority.

Yeah, i can tell you that the guy who made the video is really nice and talented. He’s going to LMU in the fall (he’s from SoCal) and has been making films and entering them into film festivals since middle school. I don’t get the hate.
