I just got cliff notes ap lit review book, but I barely have any time to prepare for the ap exam since its Thursday. I'm also taking calc AB, but I'm considerably confident with the material so I think I'll be fine for Wednesday. On the other hand, how do I prepare for this exam? Which major works of literature should I look over so I can be ready to answer the open ended question? What poetry terms should I be familiar with???

I don’t really know how to prepare for the exam besides looking over works for the open question. I have senioritis so my mind hasn’t been worrying too much about this exam, especially since I won’t need to take English in college so it’s not like I need the credit.
Have you read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest? It often works for the open question. Just remember all of the biblical allusions (cross-shaped EST table, McMurphy’s crown of thorns, McMurphy associating with fishermen) compare McMurphy to Jesus and therefore emphasize he’s a martyr.
Poetry…I have no idea. I’m really bad with poetry. I usually go with sound devices and syntax.

No, I never read the book, but I believe I saw the movie lol

I’m going to look over The Jungle, 1984, Heart of Darkness, and A Doll’s House as these are some of my favorite books that I read during high school. Is the topic usually general enough that you could tie in something from the few books that I will prepare from?

Yes generally. There are some books like the heart of darkness and invisible man that it covers nearly every single question they ask. Look through the released ap free response questions, and see if you can pick out at least one book that you would feel confident writing about. If you have one on every single one, then just look over those.
