I need help immediately. I’m currently a sophomore in high school and have recently taken the PSAT in October. However, I did not do as I had planned, and thus I got an okay score. I’m trying to improve this score before I take the current SAT in November and December of my Junior year (in about 8 to 9 months). Here were my PSAT results:
59 M, 68 W, and 52 CR (total composite:179). I want to improve these scores by a lot, because I’m aiming for a 2150+ score if possible. Also, the main section that I need to improve on, as you can tell, is the CR section. Any tips on doing that? I’ve read so many pieces of advice online for the CR, but none seems to work. So please offer some legitimate advice. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.
Luckily for you, you’re starting to focus on the importance of studying for this very early on, so good for you! One of the best ways to increase your CR score is putting a lot of work into learning advanced vocabulary and grammar. There are a decent amount of sites out there that can help you in this area, but just to name a few, you can use the following to start;
https://sat.collegeboard.org/practice/sat-practice-questions/passage-based-reading
http://www.majortests.com/sat/critical-reading.php

You might also consider reading “Up Your Score,” which gives a decent amount of insight into how the test is constructed and how to think like the test makers, as well as how to balance your time during each section.
Good luck!!
@HastyCentaur Thanks man!
