Preparing for Application / Recommendations?

My son is a hs junior, and has FSU as one of his top 3.

Stats as far as I know:

UW GPA: 3.611 (through 10th grade)
WGPA: 3.778
FSU GPA: 4.00

ACT/SAT: First time out will be the Oct ACT
Rigor: He has 2 APs so far - Human (4), and World History (4). He is taking Psychology, US History, and English this year.

Extracurriculars: basketball team - 9-10 (Varsity 10th), and hopefully will make the team this year as well. Light on the clubs - Spanish Club, co-founder of the Entrepreneur Club (leadership role in 11th), and Beta Club. Outside of school, he is heavily involved with Young Life Capernaum, where he serves in a leadership role.

Also - he and a friend wrote a short book on Snapchat that did real well on Amazon. Actually made #1 for a few days. I’m not sure how he should position this. It grew out of a school project.

Is there anything you would recommend he work on or do now, to help build a stronger resume for his application?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @GeorgiaDadOf4
My S20 and I visited FSU about a year ago. During the info session, the rep stressed the importance of challenging yourself in HS, especially with math. He said if you have an opportunity to take Calculus in HS, definitely take it.

FSU a great school, and it’s very high on my son’s list as well. FYI they do superscore the ACT.

Excellent - thank you for the update @ShrimpBurrito.
