Hi. I'm a junior preparing to take the SAT Math IIC Subject Test in January 2008. I have purchased a Princeton Review book to study, but am aiming for a top score. I have been told the just the PR is not sufficient to review, so what other books do you suggest? Any methods or tips and advice?

Generally I find Barron's to offer the most comprehensive review and diagnostic tests. What level math have you finished up to? I found precalculus to have provided everything I needed for the test. In fact, if you did well in the class and have good notes (which I suppose you have if you are aiming for 800), you may only need to take a couple of practice tests from any prep book to be familiar with the test.

My 1991 Barron's book actually predates the "SAT II" label, as it prepares students for the "College Board Achievement Test Math Level II" :o

Yes, there are a few numerical errors, but they're not significant, and if I remember right they're pretty obvious when they do occur. Especially since you had A's through precalc and AP Calculus, I wouldn't worry about the prep book or your score too much. Major things to go over would be functions (odd v. even, symmetry, inverses, etc.), trigonometry, polynomials, geometry, and sets. They might throw an odd derivative or standard deviation question, but with the curve at 3 or 4 questions wrong = 800, it's not significant.

I'd recommend Barron's because they overprep you.
AND! Just because you are in Calc does not mean you will get a better score. Since you have more knowledge on how to solve some problems, sometimes you will take the harder way to solve a problem. (Like finding a deriative when you just need to substitute!)

alot more difficult, but u dont any AP to do it.
If you've done pre-calc ur good.
Get barrons and meylani and just start going thru every problem, like a madman.
At first you'll get destroyed by the questions, but eventually you'll destroy the questions. And once you are able to destroy questions from barrons and meylani, the real test will be a JOKE.

Forget Barrons. Use the Real CB Book. It's much better. I raised my score from 580 to 750 (no joke, and I HATED pre-calc). Seriously, save your time, DON"T USE BARRONS.

Barron's is only good if you're aiming for at least a 780, but you might feel frustrated, since Barron's is hard and doesnt exactly explain all concepts too clearly.
