I want to get an 800 on the sat II USH test, but I'm worried because it's not scored like an AP test, therefore a single mistake will hurt my chances to get an 800 even more than missing a question on the AP test.

From reading posts here on CC, I've read that the subject test deals with more specific questions. I usually suck at those, and I tend to do better on AP type questions which deal with thematic ideas and change over time questions.

Any suggestions on how to prepare? I have the AMSCO book as my main prep book.

I am the complete opposite. I am better at identifying specific events in history. I have the Kaplan book and my Princeton Review AP US book. Just try to remember the events (memorize) is all I could say.

If I remember correctly, you can have about ten questions wrong and still get a 800 on the USH SATII…

@xrCalico23 : Tht seems about right

Are the questions from the SAT II very different from AP questions?

I believe you can find sample questions of the U.S. History SATII exam on the collegeboard website, specifically in its “SAT Subject Test Prep Booklet” or something like that, and you can also access several released APUSH exams for free on the collegeboard AP page. That way you can judge for yourself:)
