How does the presidential scholarship work? Does one apply for the scholarship, or is one applied by the admissions board?

I'm pretty sure all the presidential scholarships have already been given out and the candidates notified. (Correct me if I'm wrong!)

Yep, they've already been given out. And no, you don't apply, you're automatically considered for it, but I think a majority are given out to the Richmond Scholars semi-finalists/finalists who do not make the final cut.

kelliebm is right. Many of the Presidential Scholarships went to people who were semi-finalists for Richmond Scholars but who did not make the finalist round. There was another group that were notified last week that had applied by the January 15 deadline rather than the Richmond Scholar deadline. But they are all awarded and were chosen by the Admission Office based on the overall strength of their records. There were no special forms to fill out.
