Present Tense

Is it okay to write my essay using present tense in some parts?

The beginning of my essay where I am describing an experience is in the present tense and later on in explaining how the experience affected me, I use the past tense.

So it is not consistent throughout the essay, but also not confusing. The present was intended to put the reader in my shoes and make the experience easier to visualize with greater detail.

Its best to pick one and stick to it you might not think its confusing but the person reading it will. If your trying to explain a story then do so and go from there but don’t flip flop

Okay thanks. Ill have some readers that don’t know me very well proofread it and see if they think it’s confusing. It’s a very easy fix at least. Thanks for the response
