President Obama on Campus

The President and the First Lady are going to have a rally for support on The Oval at The Ohio State University this Sunday. Should be very exciting!

Also this weekend:

Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons) is going to be in town Saturday Night and have some sort of an exhibit or event. Not sure on the details.

The Buckeyes play at Wisconsin, so Saturday is going to be an all-day bar-hop for the whole city and probably much of central Ohio.

What a great weekend!

President Obama was just in Madison! It was a really big deal, lines for miles. I’d suggest getting there early.

We’re very excited for the OSU game as well up here. We’re excited to hand your asses to you. It will be a wonderful weekend for us here in Madison too!

I have a few Wisconsin alumni in my family. It’s dividing the house. I went to Camp Randall once a couple years ago, and I have to say, you guys do tailgating better than we do, but that isn’t saying much, since Wisconsin tailgates better than pretty much anybody.

Also, I am worried about your home record, but I am confident that Ohio State will prevail this Saturday.

this is a big deal because?

Leave tailgating to the pros.

I’m psyched for the UW-OSU game, I have student season tickets. I didn’t get to see Obama when he came to Madison, though - I had bio lab =/

My school is a short drive from the White House but I don’t think Barry’s paid us a visit in recent time.

I second icedragon’s sentiments. Who cares?

Are you going to the football game? My band geekiness will be showing right now, but I loooove your marching band. I so wished I could have gone to Ohio State just to try out and be a part of marching band. I’m such a dork :p

Anyway, sounds like an exciting weekend for you! Have fun!

I care. And as the most important member of CC, that makes this pretty damn important.

This thread makes me wish for one of three things

1) that Terps football were better

2) that it was basketball season

3) that College Park was more like Madison or Columbus

Ohhhh man. Basketball season. ::gets out calendar and counts down the days::

I’m wondering how we’re gonna do this season, Vasquez was our powerhouse last year if I’m not mistaken (I mean, I know he was a key player but I didn’t keep up with the articles enough to know if he was the main force behind our success or one of many elements).

Poor Obama with all his useless efforts to raise money and campaign to rev up his sheep at the universities. Feingold IS going to lose his seat and the GOP will take back the House.

I just can’t wait to see how the men’s basketball team does now that we canned the coach and lost our powerhouse (daaaaarn). That could be a good or a bad thing. Goodness! That makes me look forward to the basketball season even more!

Ohio State was ranked by Hoops & Helmets as the best football and basketball school last season with a Rose Bowl win and Sweet Sixteen appearance. The basketball team is only going to get better.

^ I’m jealous. The last time our men’s basketball team made the Sweet Sixteen, Gerald Ford was president. The last time we actually made it to the NCAA tournament my brother who is one year younger than me wasn’t born. That’s really sad :(

The women’s team give me a bit of hope… =</p>

In addition, Ohio State won the Big Ten in both sports, with a spectacular overtime buzzer-beater win against Mchgan.

I’m from New York, and my college team was always St. John’s. They weren’t ever good when I was a basketball fan, but they are still fun to see at the Garden for big games. Too bad they don’t capture the soul of the city like they did in the 80’s and early 90’s. With the rise of nationalized television, it wasn’t important anymore to get exposure in New York and the Garden. You could play ball in Kansas and get national exposure.

going to see him when he comes to UW on the 21st.

bahaha :D:D

:)but no hate for osu
