Could anyone who has attended a Presidential Scholar Day before tell me what I should wear there? I think that they said business casual, but I don’t remember.

It’s business casual. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes though, if you decide to tour the campus you’ll be doing a ton of walking!

Khakis and a nice shirt for guys, skirt or nice pants and a shirt or sweater for girls. And the advice about comfortable shoes is good! You will see people in jeans, but the more nicely dressed people really stand out. You will have a chance to meet with people who can be mentors.

Ditto on Tiger’s clothing rec. – wear really comfortable shoes, even if you don’t tour; walking from location to location will take a toll. This fall, there were girls with blisters (from too dressy a shoe) by 11:00 am.
Great Luncheon – the featured speaker for our Fall session luncheon was wonderful (I don’t remember his name, but I think he just won a Gates Cambridge scholarship), The individual lectures at the respective schools were also very good. The final “mock lecture” by one of the university profs. was engaging. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was our campus tour, which was rushed due to the tight schedule, and ended up being only a tour of the residence halls. It was a GREAT day, but in our opinion, unless you get to campus very early, skip the tour, or at least make sure which tour you are actually taking – full campus tour or just the residence halls. We were put into a full campus tour group, but the guide was confused, and was also in a hurry to get to her own classes. The Villages, however, were very impressive residence halls! No wonder they are tough to get into.

Enjoyed the events of Presidential Scholars’ Day. Nice campus, great sprirt around campus (heard “War Eagle” more than I care to remember), neat small town feel in area around campus. We left rather impressed.

CED2015, I see your daughter chose Auburn. Congratulations! Please keep us posted on how her freshman year goes, and how she likes the Honors program there. I’m sure I am not the only one who will appreciate hearing about her experience (and your experience) with Auburn.

Yes, she was accepted to 5 of the 7 schools she applied to and waitlisted on another. Between the feel she had while on campus at Auburn and the wonderful scholarship they gave her, it was a fairly easy choice for her. She is excited to go to Camp War Eagle in the summer.
