Just noticed today that the list has been posted on the website for the semifinalists.

Remember, there was a 'mistake' this year that initially overlooked approximately 300 ACT high scoring students; they were then rightfully added in the 2700 for a total of about 3000 candidates this year, probably the largest pool for this program. Well, it's just in keeping with everything else about the wildly competitive admissions process for this poor class of 2008 ;>)

So again, big congrats to those who made it to semi-finalist status, and good luck going forward to May!!

Anyone actually get their official notifications of semi-finalists? My daughter is listed, but she hasn't heard anything from the program yet...

P.S. I'm glad there's only four guys (for the academic version) in CT - better chances than for all you Cali suckas! But on second thought, California is so much better than CT that trying to make fun of you just makes me sad :-p

Do you have the same anti-private school bias as DC has: Of 40 candidates, 32 candidates attend private schools. Of these 32 candidates only 3 made it to semi-finalist status; and two of these attend out-of-state schools

I didn't look into it that deeply and don't intend to do the research... over my school vacation, I'm trying to relax ;) But, of CT's eight semi-finalists, 3 are from private schools; nothing seems odd to me about that number.

i'm also from CT and i looked up the candidate info because i had too much time on my hands...of 56 candidates, about 20 were from private schools. not as bad as DC, i guess.

Okay, so... am I the only one who totally forgot to send a photo and a bio in? I'm doing it now, but I really really really hope I haven't disqualified myself by being five days late. I mean, I only made my college choice two days ago...
