After getting owned by lots of great colleges from my college process, I felt that going to Berkeley is my only option. I encourage you to bombard and slap me with your comments of why Berkeley is a GREAT school.

i am sorry if i have angered any of you with my post. i did not mean it to defame Berkeley. Heck, i am going there next year, i just thought you guys can cheer me up. sorry.

^Berkeley is prestigious. Actually where I am from in Fl people seem to really respect it, even at my conservative catholic high school. Your wording gave the impression that Berkeley is your last resort but I'm sure you didn't mean it that way. If your a CA resident you should really appreciate how lucky you are to go to a school like Berkeley for the price you pay. There's kids back where I'm that would have loved to gone to Berkeley if they could get in, especially paying instate tuition. My roomate wanted to go to USC because all his friends were going there but his asian parents made him come to Berkeley and now he's really glad they did because he really enjoys Berkeley

Not true at all. Two of my friends who got into Cal are both thinking about going to UCSD instead. They have a superb bioengineering program and a nifty international relations program.

I might as well say "Cal is the school for stanford rejects" or "Caltech is the school for MIT rejects" or even "Yale is the school for Harvard rejects".

sure, cal is often the school for stanford/harvard/mit rejects. what's there to gain by hiding from the truth? and if you're going to tell me about two people you know going to ucsd over cal, i can cite at you the number of people i know at sd who are only going there because they got rejected from the better UCs. then i can talk about the people i know here who turned down better privates to be at cal.
