Hey everyone I had a question about Pitzer College.

My dream is to transfer to Claremont Mckenna College from my community college, but seeing as I only have a 3.7gpa I doubt it will happen. I know that Pitzer is a part of the Claremont College system so was considering applying.

CMC is very strong in it's political science program which I am applying to and is well-known for sending their students to grad schools such as stanford, upenn, yale, harvard, columbia, berkeley, etc.

Since I am a political science major grad school is pretty much a need wether it's for MPP or law school I am still unsure which however. I am pretty set on (trying to) going to a high-ranking grad school.

Would a student from Pitzer be considered as desirable to grad school admissions counselors as one from Claremont Mckenna or Pomona?

Just kind of concerned how others see Pitzer college as I only ever heard of CMC and Pomona being mentioned as having a good reputation.

Any info is appreciated!

Pitzer’s selectivity has been growing in recent years, and I expect their reputation in graduate admissions is doing likewise.

In addition, you could always take a high number of CMC and Pomona courses and subtly emphasize that in your grad applications.

However, because of the increasing selectivity I mentioned, your chances for Pitzer and CMC may not be as far apart as you think they are. Don’t skip applying to the school you want over a few percentage points of difference.
