Hi Im a high school sophomore and was wondering what prestigious, application-worthy summer programs are there, preferably ones that don't cost money. I know Clark Scholars is a good one and so is Welsh and SIMR, does anyone know of any others? As a freshie I got a 4.17 and as a sophomore Im at least going to get a 4.23. I did 200 hours of community service at the hospital, and am going to volunteer in a clinic in Africa. If accepted I would do a project on neuroscience called The Effects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on GABA Receptors in the Neurocortex and Hippocampus and a Possible Treatment for Epilepsy, which I have been doing side-research for by myself in the hospital's Health Sciences Library. I am also fluent in Spanish and Somali. Do you think I would make it into one of these programs? By the way I did not take the SAT, PSAT, or ACT yet.

most programs are for rising seniors.

You generally do not get to continue your previous research unless the institute allows you and you have discussed it with them beforehand.

I looked back on their websites and figured out I’m not old enough for them yet.
I was wondering though if maybe with the same stats I could get into the COSMOS program at UC Davis.
