pretty insane i know but perhaps some chances?

Hey college confidential people!

I just want to know your opinions about my chance of getting in yale
although I think this is far far far reach....

attending an international school outside of the U.S

ACT - 33

extracurricular activities (i'm only listing the ones I think might stand out)
-school varsity vocal (all high school years): sending a CD
-participant in a regional convention for music
-leadership positions (mostly president for music honor society and other clubs)
-Internship at a hospital

oohh...it seems the one with my vocal experience is really weak....

Don't send a CD unless you are REALLY good. If your singing has only been recognized within your school, don't send it.

oh really? so they don't even listen to CD if i'm not recognized widely?

First of all, the admissions officers don't listen to it, professors at the music department do. The risk you run is having the music department professor report back to the admissions committee, "This kid's voice is very average. Nothing special at all. I can't believe s/he even sent that in." Then the admissions officers think you have poor judgment and an unrealistic assessment of your talents. I don't know if this scenario actually would go down, but you don't want to risk it. Don't sent it in unless they are certain to be impressed.

well, thanks for your advice i really appreicate it...i thought something emphasizing my vocal experience would somehow help my admission chances because nothing else really stands out in my app.

no more comments?

that's bs... if you sing above average but not liek WOOOOOOOOAHH its okay..as long as you don't sound like crap

You have somewhat poor ECs. Unless you are an amazing singer, I really don't see you being accepted. Being a male and a singer helps. Far rarer than a female singer. Female singers are extremely common, it is almost impossible for you to stand out no matter that your talent is considering that they only will give SPECIAL consideration for 3-4 a year.

oh..i am a male singer as you see on my profile..
yeah I know my ECs are poor
but is there any way that my singing experience can stand out for the rest of application?

and thank you ikwame! i think i sing at least above average.

ACTUALLY... before you apply,.. like in september ..just do All City Chorus its not all state..but its easy..and it showzs your passion fro singing..and maybe start a gflee club at your school...It will boost both your E.Cs and your singing experience

ohh whoops you're outside the US..do they still have All City....?
