Previews making the decision harder...

Why did he decide to move to Northwestern?
It seems like he was much loved at Williams.

With deposits- I don’t recall when we mailed it in, but we did call either on May 1 or soon after to confirm that admissions had received it.

As for Morty going to Northwestern, here’s a press release from the College. It has a couple links.

[Williams College :: News & Events - Press Releases](http://www.williams.edu/admin/news/releases/1726/)

He thinks the ideal term for a President is roughly a decade, and was heading toward the end of that, along with a few other things.

No ill will in sight.

Most college presidents stay in office for a decade or so.

Hey, sorry ChandlerBing, hadn’t been on the forum for a while. I’m deciding among Williams, Duke, Amherst, and USC (for the money). Gonna figure it out in the next couple days, I guess.

Hey no problem, those are some great choices. I know a few kids picking between Williams and Duke (one chose Williams, the other’s leaning towards Williams).

Tough decision… leaning towards anything?

TheWerg, I was in the same situation as you are in right now. Before going to Williams Previews weekend, I was basically committed to Duke, but after, I had to seriously reconsider Williams.

Ultimately, I chose Duke (I sent in my deposit today), and I know many people that I met at Previews last week who were choosing between the two. I wrestled with this decision for quite some time, and it was extremely tough to let go of Williams. But a couple of factors played important roles, and many favored Duke.

Both schools are different in many ways - weather, student body population, location, etc. Academics, however, are top-notch at both institutions, and you will undoubtedly be receiving an education unparallel to most other colleges.

Sometimes I wish that Williams and Duke could combine some of its respective aspects together and create a university that could appeal to all those who are still on the fence. But I know that you’re going to end up at a place where you’ll meet amazing people and learn from the most incredible professors in the world.

Good luck to you and to everyone who is still deciding. Although I’m a Cameron Crazie now, I will always keep a place in my heart for Williams.

==> Just curious, fiftyplus, what did he choose over Williams?

University of Virginia

Yeah, fiftyplus, you’ve been avoiding the question, and now I am really curious. At least, tell us the first letter in the school’s name. The speculation will probably lead to this being the longest thread ever!!!
I sent in my money to Williams on Monday, although I know I will always wonder…
