Princeton 2019 SCEA Hopefuls Thread

I’m doing 9 additional apps if I don’t get Princeton, and probably just 3-4 if (IF!!) I do. I’m already into state flagship.

It’s so sad to hear that some people are so spiteful, rude, and jealous. In that case, just remember that you’re in this for YOU. You’re the one who worked so hard for four years, and wants to go to a school like Princeton to get the best education possible. If there are people out there trying to spoil that for you, then it’s them to feel sorry for. Regardless of where we all go, we’re going to do great things. I’m trying to keep that in mind for Monday.

I agree it’s inconceivable that people would direct their energy in such a counterproductive (and plain old mean) endeavor. I have thought myself unfortunate that I have no peers in my school (or perhaps one), but now I almost feel lucky that the competition is not that fierce that people wish to harm me.

I’m doing 9 more in addition to Princeton. 4 more reaches. 3 matches. 2 safeties, one of which I am already accepted.

Do not many people major in STEM? Why would it be advantageous to put something STEM down for majors?

i’m doing 11 more, 5 reaches, 4 matches, and 3 safeties. already accepted to northwestern and UOP dental program.

9 more for me; 4 reaches, 3 matches, and 2 safeties. And @HPClee‌ I think that many top schools try to get a lot of women in STEM (I don’t know about the general population); Princeton publishes stats specifically about its percentages of female STEM majors. This is most likely because women have traditionally been underrepresented in the STEM fields and have instead been pushed towards the humanities – even now there is a huge gender gap in fields such as computer science, engineering, etc. I do not know, however, whether selecting STEM as a major is a particularly important factor in Princeton admission decisions, as many students do end up deviating from the course of study they plotted at seventeen… At this point, as others have said, all that remains is to wait…

Aww this thread is so nice  Regardless of what happens in 2 (-gasp!) days, we’ll all end up where we belong (although we are all hoping that this place is princeton…hahah) Good luck to everyone!!
The anxiety/waiting IS terrible D:

11 non-p’ton schools for me: 3 reach, 6 match, 3 safety. Only acceptance I’ve gotten so far is a full ride to a safety state school that I have no interest in attending. Praying I get my 2nd acceptance here in about 42 hours…

Guys im like shivering and shaking and twitching spontaneously. My hand is jerking in the worst times and im seeing the world upside down sometimes. dont judge me andrew. HELP ME

I never thought I would say this but I need this weekend to end now

I can’t concentrate on studying for finals this is so bad

haha i’m glad i got to exempt all my finals

@ambitious19 u Bay Area high schoolers be cray!!! Why would anyone do that? Do your friends know that you’re dominating princeton scea threads and jealous/spiteful perhaps?

I’m sorry that you have really stupid people at your school @Ambitious19‌ ! God, I really am sorry for you and hope that you know yourself that you do not deserve all of that B.S.

Good Luck to all of you! Seriously I hope everyone on this thread gets in! On another note, I got my interview notification, so I finally have that  Nervous but really happy at the same time.

Guys I have a question about a “controversial” essay. I wrote my essay kind of about writing my essay. However, I talked about how I have an “idea list”, then I start my musing about who I am and what people would say about me (and I recall some anecdotes), and then at the end, I decide that a college essay is nothing to fuss over, and its just about showing who you are, and then i toss away my idea list…what do you think about this?

@emenya‌
What interview notification?
You haven’t had the interview for the early action round yet?

@lb43823 It’s a little risky, but most likely you’ll be fine. Most admissions officers are open-minded, but my English teacher told me to beware in case someone uptight/narrow-minded reads your essay. I was going to write about Ferguson in another college essay, but I didn’t end up doing it just in case

Oh I was already deferred (through QuestBridge) and Powell said I should expect an interview for the regular decision round soon. And it came the other day. Sorry for the confusion @StevenToCollege‌ !

To add to the previous discussion about other applications, I was already accepted to my state school and am applying to another reach (Columbia) and two matches. Doesn’t sound like a lot but I can pretty safely get into McGill (one of the matches), which I consider my “realistic top choice”.
