Princeton and Harvard are the easiest colleges to get into?

troll. if not NYU is a reach.

Just a round of applause for "tocollege" for that peice of investigative work. Jackass

About half of those were made a LONG time ago. RECENTLY, I've only made about 3 or 4, and I've only bumped 2. Get a life.

lmfao at OP and all these threads. they really are unnecessary. How are we supposed to know what your "chances" are? you have a unique situation. chill for a few days, i mean hours. you're probably like secretly tallying all the responses. anyways i think you'll be rejected everywhere.

kidding. i think you'll get in to all three schools, but please stop bumping all of your threads. they're really annoying.

how did your ACT score go down one point from your first thread? do you really have a 33?

daaaaaannnng check out that wicked rising trend!
Good scores, decent ec's, and good junior and senior gpa's
Those junior and senior gpa's will show that you are capable of doing good work, and the fact that your dad died makes the 1.0 and 2.2 more understandable, although it will probably hurt you still.
URM
I think in at Howard and Hampton, Match at NYU
NYU is super tough to get into even without your bad freshman and soph grades but I think you can do it
good luck!

Haha, funny thread. Yes, NYU does require 2 SAT II's, but I think your ACT score is great. I'm applying there too, and mine was a little lower. Good luck! :)

Somegirl, I don't want to start a posting war, but yes, you made 4 threads in the space of a single day for the same topic, that is far too many.

Yes, I have seen all of your other threads, and I've already chanced you more than once, but you haven't seen those because you insist on taking up more of people's time.

If you had taken the time to read my previous chances, you would already know that I thought you had a good shots at Hampton and Howard because of your ACT's and GPA reasoning, with an iffy shot at NYU.

So please in the future just use ONE thread and wait. I don't see what more you can get from a topic that's been re-hashed so many times, but do what you want. Good luck, and please don't tell me to go to hell.

Hi SomeGirl.

You seemed frustrated that you were not getting the "chances" you hoped for, so I wanted to try to give you a thorough and thoughtful answer. I took a look at your many chances threads so I could get a better understanding of your unique situation. In the space of about 60 days, your information went from that you were a sophomore in HS with a 1.5 GPA overall who had not yet taken any tests and had few extracurriculars...

to a senior with stratospheric Jr and Sr GPA, a long list of ECs and impressive awards and an ACT score that is only achieved by 1 - 2% of students nationwide. Your GPAs, test scores, ECs and awards vary greatly from thread-to-thread, so it is hard to give meaningful chances at this point - when most of the information is guesswork.

I am impressed with your ambitions, and I encourage you to work to achieve the goals you have set for yourself for your junior and senior years in high school.

To address where you are right now: Sign up for a reasonably rigorous junior year course load - don't overload yourself with APs - one or two at the most. Achieve the best grades you can in your courses. Select only a few ECs - remember, you have to get your GPA up, so don't expend all you energy trying to put together a long EC and Award list. In October, sign up for the PSAT and PLAN to start your testing. In spring of your junior year, take the SAT and ACT. After you complete you junior year and your first round of testing, return to cc next summer and ask for "chances" based on where you actually are at that point.

You have set some great goals and expressed determination to achieve them, and I wish you the best of luck. Dream big!

I'm not familiar with the first two, but for NYU, you have a good shot. Since it's your dream school, apply early.
