Princeton Application Anomalies

Sooo, something that I’ve kinda been wondering about for a while, and before you go ugh another interview question hear me out:

I received an email that looked something like this on February 17:

Dear (Me),

Thank you for applying to Princeton University. As part of the application process we try to offer all applicants the opportunity to talk with an alumni volunteer. This will be an opportunity for you to learn more about the Princeton experience and for us to learn more about you, in a relaxed and informative conversation.

Please expect to be contacted via email or telephone by (redacted) a member of the Princeton interview committee in your area, to arrange a convenient meeting time and place.

Sincerely,

Princeton Admission Office

The thing is not only did I not receive any sort of contact from this person, I also had been emailed a couple of other times already by the Princeton club in my area about scheduling an interview, which I couldn’t do because all of their slots filled up. It all felt a little strange to me, especially because I didn’t receive this email until MID February, and I would think that they would want to already have all of their interviews in by then. Does this match anyone else’s experiences? I’m not saying that it’s a good or bad thing, I’m just curious with the decision notification approaching.

:bz

Hmm, that is strange. I did get that email you posted there and was promptly contacted by the alumni. There’s a Princeton club in your area? Strange, considering how they also offer interviews… I think you should email admissions and explain to them what the situation is.

I don’t think not having an interview will put you at a disadvantage, admissions should take that into consideration when making their decision.

@MrElonMusk I’m not really that worried about it to be honest, just gonna go with the flow. At this point, it is probably too late to have done anything about it anyways.

I also had a similar email sent to me after I interviewed with the princeton club back in mid-February. But princeton makes such an effort to give almost all their applicants interviews, I think its important to show how serious you are about the school.
But eh probably not a big deal.

@FourYearsornot whatever happens happens at this point.
