SAT I 2310 (790 Math, 780 Writing, 740 CR)

I have yet to take the SAT IIs (I will be taking them this November - Math II, Physics, Lit)

I am an Israeli, and my GPA is 95%, which translates about to a 3.9(?)
My school didn't rank, but I was definitely in the top 10%.
Since I went to school in Israel, I didn't have the chance to take any AP/IB courses, but I did have a fairly rigorous curriculum (advanced physics and math).
After graduating from high school in Israel I took a gap year and went to an arts school in the US, majoring in Creative Writing (my GPA during that year was 4.0 unweighted).

Extracurricular Activities:
Red Cross Volunteer (9th and 10th grades)
Regional Science Excellence Program (9th and 10th grades)
Youth Movement Counselor (9th and 10th grades)
Interlochen Arts Camp (10th and 11th grades)
Varsity Cross Country team (11th and 12th grades)
Hiking and Nature Preservation Youth Group Member (11th grade)
School Delegation to Poland (12th grade)
Ghost Writing my grandfather's autobiography (12th grade)
Women’s Triathlon (9th-12th grades)
Staff member, editor and contributor for various literary publications

Last summer I attended the Prague Summer Program writing workshop. I studied with some published authors who are very willing to write letters of recommendation on my behalf.

This year I am enlisting in the Israeli Army (mandatory for ALL Israeli citizens, including girls). I suppose this'll make me stand out, especially since my military position is rather unique.

My only concern is that my SAT II scores might be relatively low. It's been a while since I completed the Physics and Math 2 coursework, so some of the material has sort of been forgotten. How would it play with my relatively high SAT I score? Which scores are more important to admissions officers - SAT I or SAT II?

You will be fine with SAT I. Why are you taking physics and not literature?

You should have an amazing story for applications. Especially love the fact you did autobiography for grandfather.

Are you applying to any school SCEA for Princeton or Stanford?

Good luck!

thanks!

I’m not doing SCEA because I only realized that I can apply two weeks ago. I thought I would need to wait until after my military service, but I spoke to a couple admissions officers at a local college fair, and they said that I can apply and then defer. I definitely would have applied SCEA to Princeton. It’s my top choice.

Do you have any advice as to which SAT II exams I should take? I talked to an academic counselor who said that math and physics would display a more substantial knowledge base. I’ve also heard that the literature exam is comparatively very difficult. I’m torn about taking physics, math AND lit on the same day - not sure if I can manage the intensity of three consecutive exams.
