@GabyTinch okay, thanks for the info!
Thanks @deeeznuts Not sure if it makes me feel better or worse that there are so many apps from MD! LOL
My DD is another app from MD. She had an interview but I am disappointed to hear that there are so many applicants from the state.
Anyone applying from WV?
@college61728 I will be RD!
does anyone know what date princeton will release EA decisions?
@2021applicant Princeton hasn’t officially released its date, but we’re assuming that it will be either the 14th or the 15th (Wednesday or Thursday next week)
ahh I wish we knew the date, I read somewhere in this thread that the decisions may not come out until the 19th I think I’ll lose it before then lol. I know I’m getting deferred, but gah I still wanna know ~O)
This may sound silly, but what do you do for an in person interview? Let’s say you meet at Starbucks. Do you have to buy coffee? Does the interviewer buy coffee? Do you just sit at a table without buying anything? Ahhhh lol
Good Luck Guys! You will do great where ever you are!
-From the Cornell Thread
@Mamapa2 aw thank you, same goes to you & the rest of the cornell thread
@DryMango It’s generally a casual conversation so don’t feel obliged to buy yourself or them coffee. However, if you want to or it makes you feel comfortable, get yourself a drink. Whether the interviewer gets a drink really depends on them, how many interviews they’ve already had that day etc. Overall, just relax and have fun!
Is anyone here a kid of an alum? If so, when did you have your interview?
On the off chance i get in haha i wanted to know how bad are the winters really? Like ive never even seen snow before (im from really south texas) and i dont really know anyone from the north so i was just wondering what its really like
Any tips for RD applicants?
@GabyTinch To be perfectly honest, winters in the northeast can be rough and not super pleasant, but eventually are manageable… you definitely get used to it. Good luck!!
@GabyTinch I don’t think there is drastically cold weather, but at this time of year, it usually hovers around 0ºC which isn’t bad at all. Wear a scarf, a warmer coat/parka and maybe invest in some snow boots and you’re good to go.
My S is a freshman in Princeton. I have been reading all your comments here as we were in your situation before. I have been reading that not to get interviewed is not a big deal. I must say from my son’s experience this is definitely not true. Being interviewed will give a big impact on your applicationn
@Lasvegasmom68 Could you perhaps elaborate a bit more? Are you sure it wasn’t his EC’s grades etc. that made him stand out? Or were his GPA/SAT eclipsed by his interview?
@VenomBuds …all his grades were all high. He focused on his essays and it must be felt by the admission people that you have the passion of what you have written. He got interviewed by an alumni and after one month the interviewer has sent him an email saying that all of the people he interviewed in that school he was the one that stands out. So i said to my son i think you will get accepted as it is very rare for an interviewer to send an email to applicant.
