Okay, cool person that I am, I searced my last name on the Princeton website's "people search" and I found out that 09er's are listed now, so you can see what your e-mail address will be. Since my last name is rare, mine is just my first initial and my last name. But for all you Smith's and Jones's out there, you can find out before we officially get our addresses what yours will be (in case you can't stand to wait that extra week). Not that you can access it or anything... it was just pretty cool to see my name come up as a search result...

ilovemath

YOU ARE AWESOME!!! you just made my day...

finally have @princeton.edu address without getting my name or last name butchered :) (feels like i just got my diploma :D)

YOU ROCK, ILOVEMATH! Leave it to you to make our days, hehe. Finding your name on the Princeton website is an experience, lemme tell you. Whoa...whoa!

Hmm. Mine is wierd. Rather than the standard initial+first seven letters of last name, I got first name + initial of last name. Still, I turn up on the Princeton search, and nothing beats that :D

haha what does the "Alias" mean? its not a password lol i tried :(

ILOVEMATH YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! Wow it IS really cool to find your name up on the princeton website. And we have our e-mail addresses! Even though we can't use them! This is SO COOL.

LoL. thanks adides, phil, and AR. Now if only we can figure out our passwords...

S was very happy to see his name.

Do they have an appeals process if they truncate your last name?

Not past eight letters total, which is the ID limit. If they screw up completely, I think you can file a request for NetID change: http://web.princeton.edu/sites/myinfo/

mine's just last name@princeton.edu, no first name/initial at all....probably cause my last name's weird....lol

wooh that was a high : )

no its not!
my ID is HORRIBLE! I could just KILL my sister for taking away MY ID!!!

Weird. Mine is just my initials - first, middle, and last names (I have two). For example, if my name is Joe Bob Smith Jones, it'd be jbsj @ princeton.edu.

sucharita - ahh hehhe, sorry to hear that
chichi - that's kind of neat, isn't it?

mine is [first initial][middle initial][last name]@princeton.edu

ah to heck with the anonymity, email me!! :p : jkhwang@princeton.edu

:D so we finally know who mea is!!!

i was thinking about this but if/when i see you guys on campus, i think i am going to have some trouble switchin to ur real names. i mean, i'd have to genuinely try to see you and not call you mea, pegdiver, phintex, gia, pavalon, revan... u know?? :)

lol adides, I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm going to have trouble too....I chose mea as my handle because it had exactly nothing to do with me or my name, and now I suspect Pton CCers might have a hard time adjusting to my real one : )!

mine is only 3 letters...lol mna@princeton.edu I like that it's short. :)

Fine, mine doesn't reveal anything about my real name *anyway/i, so contact me at nisf@princeton.edu.

Wonderful. I googled it out of curiosity. I have the same initials as the National Institute for Soils and Fertilizers. Bleh.

^Hahahahaha! That's great! Good times, good times.
