Want your Princeton email? :)

If you search for yourself on the Princeton People Search, you can see your email and your NetID.

It was quite a thrill to find myself on the Princeton website. :D

And if you hate the user name they have given you, you can probably change it unless you ask for one that is already taken. Little known facts:).

WHOA.....that is so cool! I mean, I knew I was getting one, but actually seeing it was awesome!! LOL, i'm such a dork...

who do you contact if you want it changed?

That's awesome. Thanks for telling us. All my other friends got it and I was wondering when Princeton would tell us.

OMG thats soo sexy. Any ideas when we'll actually get our passwords and such?

I want to change my id :(

thank you!!!

:D :D :D

Thanks, Glinda!

I <3 my ID -- it leaves out my pesky last name and just gives me a last initial.

yea that's cool

http://helpdesk.princeton.edu/kb/display.plx?ID=4450

If you want to change it, you must have a compelling reason...
I'm satisifed with my E-Mail

In my D's case, they gave her first initial and last name but cut off one letter of the last name. Which meant it was spelled in her email like a plausible misspelling of her actual last name. That was good enough reason, she would have been dealing with people who thought the email spelling was correct over and over and over again...

Mine's slightly boring...firstnamelastname@princeton.edu
(firstinitiallastname@princeton was already taken =)

we get the NETID activation ID's, the codes that let us access our email accounts, in mid-june

I'm seriously using all my strength to keep myself from staring at my email address on the pton website...

too bad we can't use it yet. They send out the email info packets sometime next wk at the earliest. We need our passwords first.

Yay! Thanks, glinda! :D

I <3 my ID too (firstnamelastinitial)... especially since I'm the only person that turns up on "myfirstname" search.

Thanx a bunch glinda!!! :D

I want to change my email address. :( Hopefully, they'll let me change it. :D

EDIT: Never mind. I don't think I have a compelling enough reason for them to change it for me. :( The maximum number of characters is 8 and, low and behold, my last name is 8 characters. :( Oh well, as long as I have my Princeton email address, I'm good!! :D :D :D Sooo...does this mean that I can upgrade to college facebook??? ;)

Not yet. They send a confirmation email.

so who do we e-mail if we want a change?

hehe I hated my net ID originally but I dindn't bother to change it and it's kinda become a nickname in college now :p

my last name is marshall, so when they use the first two initials, plus first six letters of last name, it goes XXmarsha@princeton.edu, which is a girl's first name (and an annoying one that brings to mind The Brady Bunch) :(... is that a compelling reason to ask for a change?

yes, definitely.

that's what alumother said.
