@FollowingSeas19 yeah, that’s what I thought too. I’ve registered to take an SAT Subject Test next month (a subject I’m comfortable with) and I guess I’m going to start with these ACT apps I’ve downloaded
I’ve taken the « diagnostic » tests for both, and my ACT results always came out better. Although timing is more brutal than the SAT (you’re given one minute or less to answer each question), I think I’m going to focus on preparing for and taking the ACT.
Good luck again everyone! I’m genuinely rooting for each and every one of you!
@sproutedchiapet I think everyone who applied for financial aid and turned all the documents before the deadline will have the same thing. I got the same thing, but it does not mean anything. Good luck.
To confirm from my end, up until yesterday, after log-in page there was always only one link that reads “Apply to Princeton Financial Aid”. But sometime during yesterday, the second link which reads “Report your outside scholarship to Princeton Financial Aid Office” started to show up. Of course there is not much to read into this small difference, but I’m pretty certain about the timing of the change.
@spivotal In the case of Brown, Columbia, and Yale’s nontraditional programs, you attend the same classes with traditionally admitted students, same professors, etc. The only difference, it would seem, are Yale’s financial aid policy, which only covers tuition, and that they give you a little extra handling. They have special events and specially assigned counselors, etc. in order to help nontraditional students successfully integrate into their academic environment.
LPS however, only offers one of 4 or 5 degree options with classes taught mostly online. The available courses and involvement opportunities are sparse. While this may be a good idea for some people who are looking for name only, the degree just doesn’t meet the same academic rigor as the traditional route. The same goes with the Harvard Extension School. In the case of Harvard, if you choose the Extension School., they even give you a different diploma, so what is the point.
In my case, I do not want a general degree for employment, etc. I am working towards academic research and that can’t be accomplished without much more rigorous and specific coursework. I probably hurt my chances at UPENN by declining LPS outright, in writing, but I would rather engage in more rigorous coursework at another school, like Michigan, than to accept admission at a school on name alone that will not get me where I need to be.
@FollowingSeas19 Khan is awesome!
Sorry that was crazy long!
I’m so excited for Tuesday!
@hogsark thank you! For me, it wasn’t so much the link itself but the page it went to, but now I’m guessing everyone sees similar things. We will all know on Tuesday, that is for sure!
Hey guys. For transfer students Brown start to today giving notifications. Best of luck.
Sorry I was typing to fast. Brown University started today sending the notifications. Best of luck.
Ooo that’s exciting! I’m brown RUE and no change in my portal, so I imagine RUE won’t find out today.
@JellyPeeps How do you know you were rejected from Yale? Their decisions aren’t out yet.
@ARousseau I was rejected during the first round of evaluations and was notified of their decision on April 24th.
@JellyPeeps I didn’t realize that there are different rounds of evaluations
It is the Eli Whitney Program of Yale.
Yeah, if that makes a difference, I applied to EWP. I didn’t know there were rounds either, but here we are. LOL
@JellyPeeps Thank you for that info!
I just received this email from Columbia"…We plan to post all decisions online on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, after 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time." Goooood luck guys
