I was in Princeton last night for dinner, and when we left the restaurant at 10:30 the town was surprisingly dead. What do Princeton students do for fun on Saturday nights? Are there parties on campus, off campus...do students go out on Nassau Street and thereabouts or not so much? How do Princeton students have fun?

The eating clubs, on Prospect Street, would have been full of student at Casino Night, last night. In fact the street would have been full, students roaming from club to club.

The only surprising thing here is that you were surprised.

Things I’ve done on recent Thursday / Friday / Saturday nights:
went to a friend’s b-day party, saw a (free!) movie at the garden theatre, went to a party at an eating club, went to a party in someone’s room, hung out at murray dodge (an artsy cafe type place with tea and freshly baked cookies), played board games, stayed in my room and did work

Generally, people stay on campus / the street (prospect) on saturday nights. not really that much to do off campus, except going for ice cream or going to see a movie (or I guess if you’re 21, going to a bar).

With all the eating clubs and their many themed parties, as well as on-campus parties, students really have no need to wander across Nassau Street for amusement.

With real estate prices and rent so astronomical in Princeton borough, there are few venues for student bars.
