Princeton parent thread

Thanks - nothing specific yet but good to have the offer. I am thinking of making the effort to go to the Princeton parent weekend in October and would be interested to hear from other intenrational parents who have done so to hear of they found it worth it.

Does Princeton aggressively pursue every admitted student? We have received 3 different packages with information, phone calls, invites to meet and greets, calls to remind of the M&G, phone calls and emails after not being able to attend, calls to meet one on one with alumni? The fly in with hotel stay before and after. Is this all to help the yield?

For my kid’s case (Class of 2016), she received information package (forgot how many), congratulatory phone call from interviewer, M&G emails and phone call. However, she did not receive calls to meet one on one with alumni or fly in with hotel stay for admitted student weekend (I believe this offer is given only to those who qualify for financial aid.) OTOH, she received a greeting email from Classics professor (she was very much into Latin in HS including extensive EC activities in Classics.) The only other school that basically provided the same including an email from Classics professor was Stanford. And the professors were very nice in answering her questions. It probably helps the yield, but I think it shows more about these schools caring genuinely for the students. We appreciated the efforts very much then.
