Princeton Quote essay

Hi!

I have a question regarding the supplement essay. The prompt talks about using a quote (either one you choose or one they supply) as a theme for the essay. Do I need to actually address the quote I'm using in my essay, or does the content just have to reflect the meaning of the quote?

Thanks!

The instructions on previous supplements indicated that you need to include the quote at the top of your essay. Other than that, I don’t think the quote needs to be directly used within the essay provided that it makes sense to the reader.

Okay, thanks so much!

Cantiger said it perfectly. Do follow directions, but you don’t need to repeat the quote in your essay. This is the option I picked for my essay last year! It’s a write-about-anything prompt in disguise. :)
