supplement essay idea - okay?

I’m planning on going with the quote option for the Princeton supplement. I wanted to sort of tell a story (that reveals something about my character, of course) and then have a quote that relates to it. I wasn’t necessarily going to use the whole essay to explain the quote.

Is this okay?

For reference, the supplement directions are: Using one of the quotations below as a jumping off point, tell us about an event or experience that helped you define one of your values.

That seems to me to be exactly what they're asking for: an illumination of your character rather than an analysis of a quote.
