Am I completely crazy or are the reading sections in this book extremely difficult and at times nonsensical? I have been doing the reading and writing sections in this book only (I am using barrons for Math) and while my writing scores have remained consistent and even steadily improved, my reading scores are all over the place! How is it possible to go from 760 one day to 630 the next? It is usually the passage based questions as I always get vocab correct. And I consider myself to be a very strong reader; I have taken AP English Language and got 4. I would be ok if not for the explanations. They don't seem to make any sense to me. For example, the explanation to a question I got wrong will simply say (C) is correct, none of the other choices are supported in the passage. Yet I will be looking at a sentence that completely supports choice (E). It is ridiculous, some of the answers just seem straight up ludicrous! Sorry for my ranting, I am just so mad.
I was also getting scared so I took a test in the Blue book (Collegeboard) and got a 720 in reading. Is this a more accurate prediction of what my actual score will be when I take the SATs in October? I am really scared because I do not want to get under 700 in reading.
Please be honest. What have been your experiences as far as PR practice tests vs. real SATs

I had the same experience as you. Princeton’s tests require deeper thinking and are more tricky. You’ll do fine on the real test :)

Was your score on the real test a lot higher than your scores on PR? Did you try the Collegeboard book and was that a lot closer to your actual score?
I’m just sort of trying to figure out where I stand so I know what schools to apply to. But Princeton Review is really throwing me off :/

Trust only College Board’s tests’ results. Barron’s, Princeton’s, McGraw’s, Kaplan’s or any other tests’ scores will not be accurate.

I have princeton’s 11 practice tests so if I’m doing relatively well on the CR parts of these tests, will I score higher or lower on the real SAT?

doctorman, I would predict that you will score higher on the real SAT. It would be great if you could do a practice test from College Board and confirm it to us :)

I have that book too! It is so irritating. My scores are everywhere and not only that, the answer key is wrong at times when you compare it to the answer explanations … I’m just going to stick to the blue book. If I take 8 tests from blue book and go over by October sat, do you think I’ll improve?
