I know that everyone on this site thinks that the CollegeBoard book is the best but until I can get one of those I've been using a Princeton Review Book. Should I expect my score on the real SAT to be similar to the score I've been getting on the practice tests in my P.R. book?

Your real score will definitely be higher than your Princeton Review scores.

Really? That would make me very happy cuz I’m pretty satisfied with the score I’m getting now! I was worried cuz I thought my score on the actual SAT would be lower than what I’m getting now.

bump…anyone else???

That’s just from personal experience, it could very well be different for you.

My first practice test (2 months ago) with Princeton Review was a 1760.

My most recent practice test (yesterday) from the College Board book was a 2200.

Not only did I learn how to actually approach the test, but I’ve been told that the Princeton Review tests are made so that you do relatively poorly on them so that you think that you need to take their prep classes.

Princeton Review tests may or may not be harder than real SATs, but one fact is clear: THE TESTS ARE NOT GOOD INDICATORS OF FUTURE SCORES, NOR ARE THEY PARTICULARLY GOOD AT PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE SAT.

Do yourself a favor and get the College Board book. It’s well-worth the money. You can still use the Princeton Review book to learn techniques.
