Princeton Review Rankins Are In!

The 2005 Princeton Review rankins are in! Here's how Georgetown was rated:

#11 The Toughest To Get Into (Academics)
#5 Most Politically Active (Politics)
#5 Great College Towns (Social)

Sounds good to me! Screw USNEWS, I like these better. :D

Wow...I don't know how I feel about the first statistic...it's scary for Hoya Hopefuls...

I know! I totally didn't expect that, either. But hopefully now I'll get into Brown since it's ranked below Georgetown! Theoretically, I should... ;)

Just in case you're wondering: Georgetown and Brown are tied in my mind- I'm not sure which I would pick. That last post did not mean that Brown is my #1 school. The decision will most likely be made for me by April 1st, since I doubt that I'll get into Brown :)

i thought princeton review rankings came in a while ago....

60...second....rule...

hey calidan, gtown and brown are tied for me too! even tho i'm SFS at gtown and totally set on intl relations/poli sci right now, im so indecisive and i have so many varied interests that i really see myself changing my mind a lot about my major. i had my heart set on brown for like 3 years of high school and i LOVED it when i visited, and then this last year and a half ive fallen in love with gtown too....if i get into both i dont kno what im gonna do, but chances are i wont, lol, so i guess we'll both just have to wait and see...good luck!

A lot of shared applicants from brown and gtown? I'm also applying to Brown. It's ranked slightly higher in my mind just because it's closer to home.

Why is georgetown's USnews ranking so low when it's obviously a very good school, and very hard to get into?

B/c they're dumb... that's why. No, it's probably because of the low endowment (at least that's my best guess). I'm really not sure why it's as low as it is, though, since it's an amazing institution.

So does low endowment = bad financial aid? I've heard that before...

Well that's usually the case, but I've only heard of people happy with the Gtown FinAid. They really try to make sure that everyone who wants to attend can attend.

PS- Zante I'm so glad that you're back and posting on here (specifically on the Gtown forum) again!!! It's fun having you around. :)

I think I'm posting the most on gtown's board! lol esp thanks to you who makes the conversation going.

I'm glad to be back, but I can't get any work done!

Me neither! But it's... so... addicting! I need to write an essay on Hard Times, but that can wait.

Ad I can actually have intelligible/intelligent conversations on here with people... unlike at my school.

yea but it's only 7:30 for you! Meanwhile it's 10:30 and I haven't done anything...

Zante! How do you keep your grades so high? You are amazing. I can say with confidence (not certainty, though... you know why!) that I think you will get into Georgetown.

I hope so!
I'm really not feeling motivated to work, but since we just returned from vacation this week hasn't been so bad so that's good. I also have a job after school so I get home at 7pm...I guess I sacrifice sleep! lol

Meh- I'll sleep when I'm dead. ;)

I was giving myself an ulcer with the coffee I drank just to stay awake.

Remember, these rankings are based upon student surveys. Different methodology yields different results.

ok calidan and others...
if we get into both brown and gtown what on earth are we gonna do?

i love both schools equally.. some days leaning towards gtown, other days brown..
ah im confused...

but then what if i dont get into either.... o boy.. it's just too scary!

i have no idea! i think ill just write down a list of pros and cons for each school and ask my 8-ball and do inky-binky-bonkey and eenie miney moe and ask ppl to pick numbers 1 or 2 and i dont kno!! lol, but i shoudlnt stress too much, im not very certain ill get in, admissions is very random ive noticed lol
