I’m working on my 10 apps but if I get accepted I’m only sending in 3.

I’ll probably tape myself but delete it if it does not work out. If I do not get in I will apply to 7 more schools. If I do I might apply to 3 more schools, or I might just stop if I get into pton.

Am I the only one who watches college acceptance reactions on youtube?

@Mocean Interesting opinion. Are you sure only 16% of applicants with 2300+ are accepted? The SCEA acceptance rate is pretty close to that. I’d assume those with over 2300 would have a higher acceptance rate. Maybe you’re talking about the regular decision round? Or overall?

I am probably going to film it and delete it if it’s bad lol

@raptor2000 I am the same way. I can’t seem to focus on anything until I get my early decisions back…

16% for 2300+. Then it is about 7% for 2100-2300 I think. But this is for overall, not SCEA.

What are you guys doing to pass the time? I have finals for community college courses I am taking next week. That should sort of take my mind off of Princeton.

@KeDIX1414 I do that too /: It’s a terrible habit now. I really need to stop obsessing over this but I just can’t seem to get my mind off December 16. To make things worse I’ll probably cave and open my decision in front of other people because I’ll be getting home at like 10pm that day.

Honestly the only thing I want for Christmas and my 18th birthday is an acceptance letter

Its just crazy to me that all of our life’s work thus far has been reduced to 5 or 6 sheets of paper.

Hi guys! Greetings from Princeton. (I am Class of 2017, Early Action).
I remember this time last year - tension running high and number of hours clicked on CC increasing every day. Just wanted to drop in and wish you guys the best of luck!
I will see some of you on campus soon :)

Cheers.

well these 5 to 6 sheets of paper can make our lives bro. but what is this news about meningitis at large in princeton? should i be worried (if by any minute chance whatsoever i get in! )

@nikrules
Princeton is importing a vaccine for us (which they will give out in the coming week). They’re doing all they can :)

@thekd95 I heard it was a different strain of meningitis than the kind they are usually dealing with. Do you know if the kids who were affected had the regular meningitis shot before going to college or was this outbreak completely unpreventable?

@SpoolMan
That’s correct. This is Meningitis B, the Meningitis shot available usually is ACWY-135. Most people have gotten the latter since it’s a requirement. The B vaccine has not been approved in the US yet but has been approved in Europe and Australia. In the light of the outbreak, Princeton is providing the vaccine to all of us, free of cost.

Might not be reply to questions for a while, have a couple of exams coming up.
But I’d like to tell you all that I’m having the time of my life here! While it is tough academically (but that’s why we want to go to Princeton!), everything is amazing. Best decision of my life.

Good to hear Princeton and our government helping out to provide free vaccines. Good luck on your exams!

@Raptor2000
I know how you feel.
Like you, I cannot start working on my other apps. After December 16th,I know I will only have 2 weeks in which I have to write supplements for 10 Universities, attend an Interview at Cambridge and Midterms at school, but I am soooo anxious about Princeton. If I get in, I will not send a single other app.

If you have not started the 10 supplements and are not planning on recycling a lot of old work, I would DEFINITELY get on that ASAP. There is really no way to submit quality work for 10 universities in 2 weeks time. I totally understand what you are saying about it being hard to work because I’m in the same situation, but I don’t want you to end up having to send in mediocre essays in case you don’t receive a good decision.

Only three of the other schools I am applying to have supplements due on jan. 1. The rest are due in february. I am using my Princeton essay for Harvard. I am half way done my UPenn essay, but I still have two to write for swarthmore. As for the schools due in February…I have not even started their supplements yet…

Here’s my philosophy: if I get rejected, or even deferred, the only thing I’ll have gotten out of this whole process is the mere excitement at the POSSIBILITY of getting in. I’m just relishing the excitement, no matter how improbable my getting accepted is. Think about it.

So what majors and certificate programs are you all interested in, should you get in? I’m personally really excited about the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology major, plus the Environmental Studies and Sustainable Energy certificates. And Spanish Language and Culture/Latin American Studies.

That makes me sound a bit boring.

Major: Economics
Certificates: Finance, Creative Writing

Major: Molecular Bio
Certificates: Neuroscience, Musical Performance

Major: Molecular Biology or Psychology
Certificates: Neuroscience and Creative Writing or Dance (Want to be involved in the last two in some way, not sure if I’d get the actual certificates or not.)

I also want to switch my language to Hindi because I’m tired of Spanish.
