Princeton Teacher Recs?

I just submitted my application to Princeton. As I was looking over the application checklist, I saw that Princeton says the teachers for the teacher recommendations should be from "different areas of study." In other parts of their website, they don't have this stipulation. I sent in my teacher recs weeks ago, and they were from a physics teacher and a chemistry teacher. I would guess that these are a bit too similar, but am I breaking any clear rules for applying? Should I give Princeton a ring and explain the confusion (and perhaps offer an explanation, as my English teacher retired and my history teacher was diagnosed with cancer).

Thanks

You should tell them. Also, did you ask your English teacher? Some teachers still write letters of rec after they retire especially if they like you.

Thanks. I called them today and they said two different sciences are fine.

yeah, i’m in the same situation (physics and chemistry)! Hopefully it will be all good!
