Hi all. I plan to major either engineering in Mechanical or Civil or whichever engineering I like when I get to see them more closely in college. I got accepted to my 3 top choices and I ma deciding upon them:

Princeton:

Pros: Undergrad focus. I really want to go to a college where the professors care about teaching, know my name, knows who I am, I like being part of the class as opposed to just an observer.
Cons: -Engineering department may be too small (limited facilities).
-Lacks engineering prestige of Caltech and Stanford.

Caltech:
Pros: Academics (I like academics here more than Princeton and Stanford).
Cons: -No civil engineering major.
-Social life: I wanna party and have tons of fun during college too.
-No girls (apart from like 15 hot ones, which should get old fast, there is not much else to pick from).

Stanford:
Pros: Fun factor.
Cons: I found professors were more careless about their students. I tried talking to professors but it was very difficult to find them available.

Caltech does have Civil Engineering department ([Caltech Civil Engineering & Applied Mechanics](http://www.ce.caltech.edu/)). The ME and CE programs are very strong. I think you should choose Caltech…:-)

I had to make the same choice as you between Caltech and Pton… I chose Princeton because of the social scene. Caltech really is one of the most socially repressed places I’ve ever been - it’s a big problem. Great if you’re into that, though.

^Next to MIT, but yeah Stanford >> Princeton engineering… But if you have any thoughts of not being an engineer (I mean, you really don’t know for sure when you’re 18), you should go to Princeton.

Definitely don’t go to Caltech… not nearly enough girls.
