Any estimates for number of people who applied?

The Princeton Admission Office has received all the required pieces of your application. Your application is complete.

How long did it take for you guys to receive confirmation? I submitted my Common App and supplement on Monday night, but haven’t heard anything back from Princeton yet. I’m also unable to register for the tracker.

It takes 1-2 days. I submitted in mid-October. It might take you a little longer because they’re processing the multitude of apps they received over the last couple of days.

Have you submitted your application yet? Yes - just yesterday. ^^"

How many people are you applying from your school? To my knowledge, only one other classmate is applying SCEA to Princeton.

How do you feel? Stressed/nervous, the norm. I’ve been in love with Princeton for the longest time and the fear of rejection is all too real! No one can be sure about their application at this prestigious of a college.

How’s senior year going? Meh. College apps are ruining it - I hope second semester is better. :D

how many people do you think princeton will accept scea? Total class size is 1300 so 800 early? also, engineering should be easier than liberal arts to get in

It says I’m missing stuff I submitted… I’m getting really nervous.

Engineering is not easier unless you’re female.

and yeah I agree with around 800 early admits.

crapcrapcrapcrapcrap Interview notification an hour ago.

wait… you got an interview notification already? when did you submit your app?

…submitted Friday, confirmation that everything was complete yesterday.

oh god. it says that it hasn’t received anything other than the common app and supplement O.O

I applied Nov 1, aroudn 12:30 am.
Alumni Interview request 2 1/2 days later.

CRAP.

I send them my SAT scores before I actually submitted my commonapp…

Collegeboard says they were sent on 10/28. Should I re-send with rush delivery?

So I am a bit frustrated, because my guidance counselor report, teacher recommendations, and official score reports are all not with my application. Is it okay that these are late?

Also, when do they begin to send acceptance / deferral / rejection letters out?

are you talking about on the application tracker? mine says that too, but i know my people sent it a while ago (even before i submitted my application), and college board says my scores sent the 28th. so i wouldnt stress, because i think its just taking time to update.

To all those who have interviewed-- any advice? What do Princeton interviewers seem to be looking for, and what is your impression of the overall atmosphere in the school?

800 early admits seems kind of high.

Results come up December 15th and we can check online.

Yale and Stanford admit around 760 each year. And with low yield rates, maybe Princeton will feel a little more generous this year especially knowing that students are giving them preferential consideration over HYSM and every other top twenty school? What I assume is:
- Athletes and legacies will be strong contenders in the early pool.
- Expect most SCEA admits with 2300+ SATs and a few 750+ SAT IIs or slew of 5s on APs. Also pretty much 3.9/4.0 UW GPAs in the hardest curriculum across the board.
- Very strong minority and underprivileged candidates.
- Very strong math/physics prospective students who are looking for a more wholesome undergrad experience than MIT. Although MIT might decrease the number of these types of students because of their nonrestrictive EA.
- The best of the best are applying from NJ, one of the most competitive states in general. It’s the in-state Ivy and basically almost every top NJ student/NMSF is applying there early. Faculty brats and local legacies will also swarm the pool. (Hence Princeton HS and other local private/public schools sending close to 100 students each year)
- In regards to other states, expect tough competition in NY and also some CA students who are evading the deadly stanford REA process.
- Something needs to resonate in your app or your school needs to have a strong relationship with the admissions office for you to get in as an “average” outstanding student. For instance, great essays and recommendations, solid extracurriculars, being the best applicant from a feeder school, etc. If you do not fall into the category of athlete, URM, legacy, or slightly more interesting outstanding Princeton applicant, you will most likely get deferred. The admissions office stated they would defer students who would be at least a little “competitive” in the regular admissions cycle. So expect Yale numbers, not Stanford ones.

Good luck everyone! I am sure we will all be fine. Chances are most people on this thread hover between bottom of the admit pool to the top of the deferral pool. We just have to wait and see what happens.

^^
Are you sure it’s the 15th exactly? I just heard mid-December. I thought I heard it would be the 23rd when it was first announced.

i have a question about the financial aid thing.
it asks for your income/tax info for 2011…are we supposed to estimate for that since 2011 isn’t even over yet? i could use 2010, but that’s outdated.
