***PRINCETON UNIVERSITY R.D. DISCUSSION CLASS OF 2019***

I was accepted…and I’m stupefied. Wasn’t expecting this at all.

@bookaddiiict did you think you were going to be rejected for sure?

@Hawkace‌ Its ok man, hang in there

@santaman I didn’t think they would throw away my file after reading it haha but I certainly wasn’t expecting this. So many people with better stats get rejected, and yet here I am. And honestly I feel incredibly guilty because Princeton wasn’t my dream school, and so many people who wanted this were denied. I have to weigh my options.

@Hawkace‌ I’m in the same boat as you buddy. I went 2 for 9, but somehow I’ll manage. Congrats to everyone that was fortunate enough to be accepted.

rejected

Rejected HYP and Brown, accepted Cornell

rejected, but i’m just hoping they at least read all my essays/supplements and listened to my arts supplement because I worked so hard on this entire application. Congrats everyone who’s in.

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe that I was accepted. I did NOT think that this would happen. Princeton was always my favorite Ivy League, but I never really thought about it because I didn’t think that it was possible!

Accepted to Brown, waitlisted at Columbia, rejected from Yale. And I opened them in that order with Princeton last, so that definitely was a surprise!

My son got into Princeton, and with a very nice aid offer!

Waitlisted… I am probably going to Cornell (if they offer great FA) until a miracle happens and Princeton accept me. Anyone know past statistics for waitlist? How many accepted?

@fairyfantasy‌ it’s varied dramatically between 0 and 165 students

Accepted.

Welcome Class of 2019. You are now pre-frosh and that’s adorable. I hope to see all of you on campus next year. Look for me at the Activities Fair if you come to Preview. I will probably be at the booth for Speak with Style.

To those waitlisted: You will certainly not be accepted if you do not send a letter to Princeton. Affirm your interest and send updates.

To those rejected: I am happy to hear that other lovely schools have accepted you. You worked hard, and thus you earned it. I can empathize with the few of you who are frustrated with your decision, but remember that in the face of great positive change, happiness quickly regresses to a default baseline. You likely would not have been happier here after your first few months. Further, talking to dozens of Princeton students has convinced me that admission decisions are fundamentally random. So hold your head up high and go conquer the day.

Oh my god, I was…ACCEPTED!!

Waitlisted. @OldNassau Any tips on exactly what Princeton wants to see in those letters? I don’t want to lie to please them; I just want to know what to emphasize on without basically including everything I’ve done this year and making things wordy.

Hey Everyone, was accepted and am still shocked! I am so blessed to be given such a wonderful opportunity. Congratulations to all those accepted and my condolences for those who received less pleasant news (as I did for 90% of my other applications).

@ahawkins Affirm that Princeton is top your choice. Tell them about your notable achievements since applying. They want to know how you’ve been spending your time, but you’re right to keep it brief. You’re also right not to lie – that’s a sure way to get rejected. All the qualities they wanted to see in a college application, they want to see here.

This is all I know to say. I was not waitlisted myself.

Have logged on multiple times since 5 pm just to reaffirm the decision.
I can’t believe I was accepted!

@cvisser96 Ha, ha, ha, ha!! Our son did the same when he was accepted 3 years ago. Congratulations!
