princeton, upenn, notre dame, bc, villanova...

I never thought I'd do this, but I like reading the other threads so I want one that's tailored to me :)

Chance me for: Princeton, UPenn, Notre Dame, Boston College, Villanova (EA), UVA and William & Mary (OOS), and Lafayette (maybe with a merit scholarship??)...I won't bother listing my state schools and my sure-bet safeties. Also, I skimmed over a lot of ECs and school awards that I'm planning to list on my app to save time and not give myself away.

-Caucasian female, northeast

-School sends very few (2-3) students per year to top schools

-Unweighted GPA (4-point scale): 3.98

-Weighted GPA (5-point scale) -- 4.7 (mostly A+s...I'm pretty sure the grades at my school are kind of inflated, but hopefully colleges won't just assume that)

-# of AP/IB/honors courses: 6 APs (my school only offers 7), all the rest are honors

-class rank/size: my school doesn't rank, but I'm in the top 5%

-SAT/ACT scores: 730CR, 770M, 760W (1500/2260)

-SAT II scores: Math II: 760; Spanish: 720

-AP scores: 5 on Physics-M, 4 on Calc BC (5 AB subscore); taking four more senior year

-ECs: Basically I'm very, very involved in volunteer organizations in my school, church, and community, with plenty of leadership. I also play piano, and I'm involved in several miscellaneous clubs and honor societies which I won't list here.

-employment: Maybe a weakness? Just babysitting really, but I want to get a job during the school year.

-honors/awards: Several at the school level, but other than National Merit Commended I don't really have anything major.

-short explanation on recs/essays: I'm expecting excellent recs, and I'm a fairly good writer, but my essays are only in the planning stages...

Give yourself away??? Your in good shape, just work on those essays
Princeton------reach for everyone (distinguish yourself from the crowd)
Penn----------less of reach than princeton, consider going ED and you’ll probably get in
Notre Dame----essays, but most likely in
BC------------in
Villanova------in for sure :)

Good Luck :)

radtomato is spot on.
Good luck.

Princeton - Reach
Penn - Low Reach
Notre Dame - Match
BC - Match
Villanova - Match

Without a “hook,” Princeton will be tough to get into since they receive so many applications from people with stellar grades.

thanks! anyone else?

What state do you live in?
