I was wondering if any ony you CC'ers could help me figure out which of these schools to apply ED to. I know that either way I'll be happy so I'm not worried about the committment of ED but I'd still like to pick the best fit. I have visited both campuses and I am leaning towards Princeton but I was hoping you guys could outline so pro's and con's. I know Columbia has "the NYC factor" but I'm not sure how much of an issue that is since I live in NYC. I think I might want a change from the usual but I'm also worried that I'll regret giving up all the diversity and opportunities afforded to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brand is confused. Princeton removed ED for the high school class of 08. For the high school class of 07, you can still apply early to princeton, harvard, or any number of schools.

There is plenty of diversity and there are plenty of opportunities at Princeton. Search on your topic and you will find previous responses to your question.

Columbia has the core, while Princeton only has distribution requirements. It makes them very different schools academically. You can create your own "core" at princeton by either taking the humanities or the science sequence or some larger intro history classes, but you can't get out of the core at columbia. Plus the columbia core is more encompassing than the princeton classes. Great for some people, terrible for others, just something to think about
