Princeton women's rowing

Looking to PM with anyone who was recruited by Princeton -- specifically anyone who went through the OV and admissions process.

What’s the topic?

My s did. PM me

Women’s or men’s? Lightweight or not?

I am interested in gaining more understanding of Princeton’s Women’s Lightweight recruiting process. After requesting her transcripts and her scores in summer, my daughter has been told by her point of contact on the coaching staff that her 2K, GPA, SATs “are in the range”. As of today, no invite for an OV. My daughter was a national team selection camper and one of the other lightweight (sort of) girls at the camp told her she had an OV set up from very early July. My D has 2 other officials from other schools she is interested in, but not from P. If someone can shed some light (PM is fine) on the topic for me I would appreciate it.

Has she asked the coach directly? She can frame the question something like “if you are still interested in me as a recruit, I’d love to schedule an OV. I have two OV commitments already and want to be sure that I have a weekend available for Pton as it is clearly at the top of my list.”

Culverdad,

NCAA rules do not allow D1 OV till after a recruit starts their senior year in high school. The Ivy league schools cannot issue likely letters before October 1 and the deadline for ED applications is November 1. As a result most Ivy league OV occur during September and invitation to OV occur during July and August. Exceptions can and do occur and I would follow Imafan advice.

In addition you may want to read posts by “Tallgirl”. She was a Princeton lightweight recruit last year. You can use the search function to find these.

Thank you for the info imafan and Swimkidsdad,

Imafan: She has not asked directly. Your idea is noted. Sounds like a good way to frame the issue.

Swimkidsdad: Again, thanks for the info. If we do not get an OV by the end of the month it will signal that they are working on higher priority candidates.
