Princeton

I know that my chances of getting into princeton are very slim,
my sat is 2150 but I got a perfect 800 on math.
my gpa is 4.67/5
I have gotten all 5's and 2 4's on my 6 AP tests
I have tons of well rounded EC's
strong letters of rec
I still need to take the ACT and 2 sat subject tests
What other schools could I look at that are still top tier that I have a better chance of getting into? Also what are some things i can do to increase my chances of getting into princeton? I am not from Jersey

Assuming your unweighted GPA is strong and the ECs are there… that 2150 makes you competitive at an awful lot of elite schools that are reaches for everyone.

Here are some:

Duke
Northwestern
U Chicago
Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth
Stanford (your SAT is right near their average)
Penn

And slightly more realistic, if you show real interest:

Williams
Amherst
Swat
Pomona
Middlebury
Grinnell
Reed
Haverford
WashU
Vanderbilt
Georgetown
Notre Dame
Rice
Boston College
Cal
Michigan
Virginia
UNC
Emory

Those are all reaches and high matches for you – some of your “aim high” schools.

I’m looking at UNC, UVA, UF, Notre Dame, Duke, Princeton, Cornell, and maybe Vanderbilt and Georgetown. How do you think my chances are at those??

Hey there! Just letting you know that for SAT’s, the score itself doesn’t matter as much as the subject breakdown-and looking at your score, it looks like you have 1+ sections that are below 700! If I were you, I would try to get all sections above 700-if you want to know if your scores are good enough, see if the fall within (or preferably in the higher end of) the median SAT scores for that school! Next time, include your score breakdowns on the thread.

For future reference, please include an unweighted GPA on chances threads; weighted is pretty arbitrary as you could have straight B’s and a 4.something or straight A’s in hardest classes and only a 4.3

Also, “tons of well-rounded EC’s” doesn’t really cut it for a chances thread or for Princeton; nobody cares about well-rounded if you don’t also display high levels of achievement, so please be more detailed in future chances threads

In conclusion, not enough information to say your chances

670reading and 700 writing, 800 math. I got a 2170 my first thread was a mistake. I have a 3.86 weighted and 6 AP credits as of junior year.
I have lots of hours of community service:
volunteering as a lacrosse coach
volunteering at races
racing pushing disabled children
tutoring

I’m in 4 national honor societies

as of junior year:
3 years varsity cross country (2 state qualifiers)
2 years varsity indoor track (2 state qualifiers)
3 years varsity outdoor track

1 year class council

3 years gold/principals honor roll

All the schools listed through Penn: your chances are slim: your reading score is too low, your unweighted gap is kind of low for an Ivy and there’s nothing here that distinguishes you from the other 30,000+ applicants

I don’t know enough about liberal arts colleges to predict those

public schools: instate you’re in, out of state they’re reaches. You’ll get into one or two

I will be damn strict when someone asks about chancing on an Ivy. U need a 2200+ sat atleast a 3.7 gpa, and Ec’s.
No one gives a chicken about a perfect 800 on one section of the sat. BUT, u seem like u r in mid-low reach.

Good Luck
