Printer?

Does anyone have any thoughts about whether or not I should bring a printer with me? How easy/difficult is it to get things printed at school? I know that there are printers available for student use but would I be better off having one in my room? Any insight would be helpful especially the ease or difficulty presented if I rely on "community printers." Thanks!

I have my own printer and it’s hugely convenient, but not necessary. If you can afford (cost- and space-wise) to bring a printer, I’d recommend it.

I had one, but it sat unused under my bed all year…Theres free printing in the dorms, I never had any problems but if there is an issue there are other printers on campus, too (and you’ll probably know someone that has a printer on your floor)

I have one and used it all the time – scanning papers is hugely convenient to have backups.

(Get an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier).

Printing is not free starting this year, but you start with printing credit at the beginning of the year. If you live on campus, then you have like 1000+ to 2000+ bw single pages worth of printing credit per year depending on your school, which is not bad, and there are printers all over the South 40.

Scanning/copier is a little more of a hassle.

PS. Apparently they increased internet bandwidth, which warrants a tentative yay! from me.
