Printer?

Hello, I was wondering if it is necessary to have a printer. If you don't have a printer, how do you print? Is it extremely convenient and recommended to have a printer?

Thanks

Its up to you. I bought a printer but ended up not using it because it would smear when I highlighted it. I just used the laser printers on campus. You have the 250 free B/W prints per semester in the reitz union (3rd floor) or I would go to the circa lab (the one by marstons) and print there (10cents per page). My 1st and 2nd year I did all my printing in the SG lab (the one in reitz) because it was unlimited, but that changed in my third year because of the new limits set. One thing I would recommend is going to the SG lab later in the day. From 10am-4/5pm (fall/spring), its full with off campus people. With lines out the door.

I recommend you get a printer. That way you have the flexibility to print whenever you want, the ability to print in color if you so desire, and you eliminate the need to go over to the third floor of the Reitz Union, stick a USB with your files in it in the computer, and tell it to print.

I went all 3.5 years without a printer of my own. There are a number of resources you can use to print, such as the computer lab across from Marston Science Library or the 3rd floor of the Reitz Union.

Like everyone else said, there's always the Reitz Union. I doubt you'll need to print more than 250 pages in a semester. Of course, consider how your dorm/apartment and classes are to these facilities that offer free printing before deciding to get one.

Just buy a printer. They are cheap and you will end up needing one at some point in life...
