Private school classes

Hello. I wanted to get some opinions on the classes that I am taking. You should know that I am a sophomore (soon junior) in a private school that some consider very difficult. The reason for this post is because I recently talked to a friend of mine who is in a neighboring public school. When I asked him of the classes he is taking next year he told me about five APs. I was very freaked out because I might be only taking one. He tole about AP psych, AP US, AP enviro, AP chem, and AP lang. I was and am freaked out. Am I behind? I think maybe that I think that I am in a comfortable position in my school but maybe I'm behind.
The classes that I am planning to take next year

AP Spanish (I might switch out)
English 11 reg
Bio H
College algebra
US H
Film H
Intro to Econ

After framing out for a while now i think I may try to get into APUS. Next year is my junior year and I think it's important that I take more AP classes. It's also strange because my school does not offer as many AP classes as my friend's school. My school has a large IB program and that is something I don't want to get into. You should also know that I have A's and B's but I don't know where I stand in class rank because my school does not have that. There are about 150 kids in my grade. Thank you so much for your help.

Your friend is taking more than normal, I took 2 junior year. Don’t take more than you think you can handle. Do you know where you are considering applying yet? (it’s kind of early)

Go talk to the college counselor at your high school. Ask whether the rigor of your planned courses for junior year is appropriate for you, and talk about how that matches up with the colleges that interest you at this point.

If you know you can take AP classes (I’m talking about core classes) and excel, take them. If you don’t have an interest in AP electives such as Psychology or an AP Language, don’t take those. It’s been my opinion that if you have the ability, you should take AP core classes but not AP electives unless you’re really passionate about that subject.

But why aren’t you taking English Honors?
