Probability I'll get accepted

HI I’m a junior in high school with a 3.26 gpa and 1550/1600 sat score. I am also a minority and a female is it possible that i could get in to UGA? I have many hours of community service and I plan on taking SAT subject tests to show the school that my grades are not reflective of me, but the poor teaching at my school. I am also a part of the full IB programme offered at my school. Is there anything I can do to to increase my chances of getting in or am I screwed?

I assume that you have a 3.26 unweighted GPA. If you are in the IB Program, than make every letter grade that you have one letter up (so a B will become an A, and a C will become a B). Then calculate your UGA Weighted GPA. If that is close to 3.8, I think it will be okay. Also, you are a minority - so that will help. Being a female really won’t help since UGA is mostly female. The SAT Score is really good - so that will also help.

Being a URM helps. Your SAT score is also fantastic. I believe those two things will help you tremendously, but your GPA is - unfortunately - really low. GPA is what matters the most to UGA. Convert it to the UGA Weighted GPA scale and see if it is around a 3.8-3.9. Like the person above me said, if it’s around that range then you should be fine.

You said you are part of the IB program. Do you have a rigorous schedule in your school? Your low GPA MAY not hurt you as significantly if you are taking the hardest classes available in your school. Do you know what your class rank is? Are you in-state?

I take the most rigorous courses in the school and I am in the top 20% in the school and am in-state

I heard taking SAT subject tests persuades colleges to ignore gpa is that true?
